This is the essay I was docked five marks on, because it was submitted nine minutes late. Ah well. The mark was 68, a high merit, so it's now 63, still in the same range. (Three grades - pass, merit, distinction.)

Twelfth, plural, this time, as I missed a couple.

Ironically, I missed the last two twelfths of the month because I had too much on, rather than too little. Sunday did at least balance it out.

I submitted two essays at the end of April; we are told to expect a three-week wait for the results in the case of shorter essays, four for the 'full-length', 4,000-word pieces.

I was a little surprised, therefore, to get the results for my shorter piece yesterday. ( Modesty makes me hide the rest under the cut, including the actual essay. )

A couple of weeks ago a newspaper team came to the Shakespeare Institute to spend the day. Today the results are published in The Independent.As always, the journalist has put a slant on it all. So, my first essay was due on November 11th. A measly 2,000 words; editing down to that limit was one of the hardest parts.

The weekend was amazing but tiring, and the last two days have been fairly full too.

In the last fortnight both girls have visited and Shopping has occurred, I've had major dental work (prep for three crowns, five and a half hours in the chair. One of the things I need to read for my first weekend of the core course is an Early Modern morality play called Mankind, dating from around 1450. So, being a swot and a goody-goody teecher's pet I went looking for it. Or Nerd. I don't care which you call me. I have received my schedules for the modules I am doing in the Autumn Term. The Institute seems to prefer to cram a module into a number of whole days rather than a regular two-hour seminar slot. This will lead to much intensive (and, I rather expect, exhilarating) work.
